Helen Harkness, Ph.D., Career Catalyst

"Freedom is Knowing your Options" is the creed, the fundamental principle and conviction of Helen Harkness, Ph.D. She founded Career Design Associates, Inc., in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex in 1978.

Having experienced and survived her own career and future shock and chaos in the early 1970s, she designed CDA to teach adults how to work and thrive in our current age of constant change and complexity.

She is a futurist, an experienced teacher, author, and speaker. A pioneer in the research and implementation of career management and enhancement programs and resources, she assists individuals and organizations facing massive change in cultural and work-life transitions.

Dr. Harkness received a lifetime achievement honor!

In 2000, the International Association of Career Management Professionals (IACMP) in Dallas selected her to receive the first Professional of the Year Award and has now permanently named the award for her. The "Helen Harkness Professional of the Year Award" will be presented annually at their awards banquet.
